Three Ruby Links #6
If I were to recommend three Ruby articles published last week to read, here is what I would recommend.
If I were to recommend three articles published last week to read, here is what I would recommend:
1️⃣ “Deep Dive into Ruby Internals: From Rails Caching to C-Level Object IDs” - by Joey Wang
Joey is doing a deep dive into Ruby internals starting from an error returned from Kaminary about can't dump anonymous module
. This is a great debugging session presented step by step and at the end there are some important considerations for caching and debugging.
2️⃣ “Sending Web Push Notifications from Rails” by Ross Kaffenberger
Excerpt from “Sending Web Push Notifications from Rails”
This is a fantastic tutorial by Ross. It provides a detailed explanation of how Web Push Notifications works and all the Ruby code samples you will need to replicate in your own Rails application. And yes, the demo works! A great read with a lot of things to learn.
3️⃣ “Propshaft Pt. 3: Assets Importmaps” by Jon Sully
Excerpt from “Propshaft Pt. 3: Assets Importmaps
Jon continues the series about Propshaft and even if I included already the other parts in the previous 3 Ruby links recommendations I cannot skip this one. It is again an easy to follow explanation of how Propshaft workers when using importmaps. I think the entire series if a must-read for anyone that prepares for Rails 8 “NoBuild” release.
